PhD Opportunity – Deep Fluid-Rock Interactions (Deep FRI Group)
The Deep FRI group, led by Prof. Codillo, invites applications for two PhD positions investigating how fluids and magmas drive mass transfer and shape the chemical and physical evolution of Earth and other rocky planets. Our research combines high-pressure, high-temperature experiments with advanced analytical techniques to study fluid-rock and magma-rock interactions in subduction zones and deep planetary interiors. Ongoing projects include serpentinization, Fe isotope fractionation in fluid-rich systems, and the electrical properties of melts and fluids under extreme conditions. We welcome motivated students from geoscience, chemistry, physics, and related fields to join us in exploring deep planetary processes and their role in element cycling, geophysical properties, and long-term planetary evolution.
